18 December 2012 - 3 February 2013
Location: Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Exhibition Gallery 1F “Space for Future” etc.

This was part of the “Tokyo Art Meeting (III) Art & Music – Search for New Synesthesia” at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. The program that centered around the “Tokyo Sonic Art Award,” an open competition installed with the aim to foster young artists, further included exhibitions of award-winning works, concerts, displays at Tokyo University of the Arts, etc. A cooperative effort of local communities, these events were occasions for showcasing music related cutting-edge art on an international level.

For the Tokyo Sonic Art Award, entries of plans for works related to music and art were accepted from any Japanese resident creator aged 35 or below. A Grand Prize winner was ultimately determined in a final screening of five nominees that were selected from a total of 78 entries, and the winning plans were eventually exhibited. P3 was in charge of administrative tasks for the Award, as well as the management of the Japanese premiere of the “univrs-uniscope version” performance by the German artist alva noto (Carsten Nicolai).
