After giving up her plan to return to her war-torn home country, Jadranka decided to stay and live in Japan. She familiarized with Japanese customs, and became such a friend of the Japanese culture that she eventually limited her diet to Japanese food only. However when she thought about her distant home country, she would express her feelings in countless songs that she presented with a gentle yet forceful voice. Her interaction with Japanese musicians also inspired a number of new creations.
This program included an exhibition of posthumous works by Jadranka, who was also active as a painter, as well as live performances and talk shows with musicians, researchers, and various other individuals with whom she kept exchanging throughout her career.
Organized by: “Thank you, Jadranka” Executive Committee (headed by Reiko Yukawa)
Sponsored by: Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Japan
Cooperation: Japan Central Music, Ltd., Adria International Co., Ltd.
