Location: Sukiyabashi Park, others

“Laundry of the Senses” is an art project in which artist Yoshinari Nishio recruits citizens to participate in rather ordinary activities that liven up the city, such as washing and drying laundry at parks and other public spaces. ”Laundry of the Senses in Ginza” was the first in a series of collaborative projects with the streets and people of the Ginza district.
In addition to a display and workshop in Sukiyabashi Park, the program included a talk session with the artist, and a performance that involved “hand-washing and drying laundry” while touring around the countless small streets of this neighborhood. Realized in connection with the “Ginza Fashion Week,” the event was an opportunity for transforming the usual Ginza cityscape for just one day.
