26 September - 23 November 2010
Location: Iwaki Performing Arts Center Alios

This filmmaking workshop under the tutelage of artist Shigeaki Iwai took place under the presupposition that the results would be shown at the Iwaki Bouken Film Festival on February 11-12, 2011.
After watching scenes from all kinds of movies to familiarize with and develop an eye for visual language, the participants worked out scenarios, chose locations at which they eventually filmed using video cameras, and finally edited the footage on a computer.
The aim was to realize a style of filmmaking in which participants focus on ordinary daily occurrences, and develop “visions” for “turning” such commonplace things into special events. Participants in the workshop were grouped into four teams, each of which created a uniquely appealing work.

Organized by: Iwaki Performing Arts Center Alios
